Having enjoyed 27-year career in general practice in Birmingham, Dr Ingham is currently a partner at Sutton Coldfield Group Practice in Sutton Coldfield. He has spent four years on the Governing Body of Birmingham CrossCity CCG, holding the position of Contracting Lead.

The three Birmingham and Solihull CCGs received approval from NHS England in November to create a single CCG subject to a number of conditions, one of which was to appoint a clinical chair.

Dr Ingham was announced as Chair, following an election process involving the CCGs’ member GP practices. He takes up the post as Clinical Chair Designate ahead of the new CCG officially coming into operation from April 2018.

Dr Ingham said: “I am thrilled to be elected by the membership as Clinical Chair for this exciting new organisation, which will be the largest CCG in England. Building on the great work already done over the past few years by the three CCGs, I am committed to ensuring that the people of Birmingham and Solihull receive the best quality of care, when and where they need it most.”

Rhod Mitchell, Chair of Birmingham and Solihull Health Commissioning Board, said: “I am delighted that Dr Ingham has been appointed to the Clinical Chair role. He brings with him a passion for primary care, and the determination to provide our patients with the best possible health outcomes.”
