This service supports people who may have any of the full range of mental illnesses. Patients treated by this service are those having an acute psychiatric crisis of such severity that, without the involvement of the service, hospitalisation would be necessary.
As part of plans to improve the quality of the service, there will be some changes made in autumn 2016. The home treatment and crisis resolution parts of the service will be separated, with the aim to make sure that when people are ‘in crisis’ they get the intensive support they need while making sure that everyone continues to get routine home treatment visits.
