Our healthy campervan tour gets underway tomorrow (30/1), at Birmingham University, to help educate local students on how to Stay Well This Winter and to choose the right services first time.
Students at Birmingham University are invited to hop on board the ‘Stay Well This Winter’ campervan to receive free advice on accessing the right health services for different needs.
The campaign campervan, promoting the Stay Well This Winter messages, will be parked up at the Vale Village on Tuesday 30 and Wednesday 31 January, between 10am and 4pm, where NHS staff will be offering free advice and support on making a healthy start to 2018, including:
- Making sure you get the flu jab if eligible;
- Getting help from your pharmacist as soon as you start to feel unwell, before it gets more serious, even if it’s just a cough or a cold;
- Making sure you have a well-stocked medicine cabinet;
- Taking prescribed medicines as directed.
The team will also be inviting students to have a spin on the ‘Play Your Care Right’ wheel, which will test their knowledge on which service would be used to treat a particular health condition.
NHS Birmingham and Solihull Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) have been running winter roadshows since November 2017 as part of the national NHS ‘Stay Well’ campaign to offer advice to local residents on how to stay well over winter.
