“A spokesperson for the NHS Birmingham CrossCity, Birmingham South Central and Solihull Clinical Commissioning Groups said, “A number of GP surgeries across Birmingham and Solihull have unfortunately been affected by the recent ransomware cyber-attack.
“Our staff have been working around the clock to ensure that the impact on patients is kept to an absolute minimum. The security of patient data has, fortunately, not been compromised.
“We would like to remind patients to use NHS service appropriately at this time and attend any pre-booked appointments, with their GP or hospital, as usual.
“NHS 111 is available 24/7 and can help people decide on the most appropriate local service for their medical need.”
