Professor Martin Miller – Board Level Secondary Care

Prof Martin Miller retired from clinical practice in 2011 as consultant physician in respiratory medicine and in acute medicine at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. He had been Director of Education for the University of Birmingham medical course, introducing a new graduate entry course and fitness to practise procedures for medical students, and had also been Chair of the West Midlands Respiratory Training Committee, developing trainee appraisal schemes subsequently adopted nationwide.

As an honorary professor of medicine at the Institute of Occupational and Environmental Medicine at the University of Birmingham he is involved in epidemiological studies on asthma, on chronic obstructive lung disease and on lung ageing in twins.
