Dr Gavin Ralston, Chair of NHS Birmingham CrossCity Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) said: “We can absolutely reassure local people that we are being totally transparent about our plans for urgent care in Birmingham and no decisions have been made regarding the future of any of the walk-in centres.
“The CCG has recently approved the urgent care strategy for Birmingham, at our public Governing Body, which is fully in-line with the national guidance that has been issued on urgent care. We will be having detailed discussions with local people about delivering this strategy later on this year. We take our duties to effectively engage with our patients very seriously and this feedback will rightly be at the heart of any decisions that we ultimately take.
“We are committed to ensuring that all of our patients have good access to urgent care services, in time of need, and that we deliver safe, high-quality and sustainable care to our population; particularly those who are vulnerable, or experience the greatest health inequalities.”
